My name is Chineme Stephen Workah, from Rivers State, Nigeria. I am applying for the Erasmus Mundus Master in Communications Engineering and Data Science — CoDaS.
I graduated with a First-Class degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt, where I built a strong foundation in digital and analogue communication systems, data science, and advanced mathematics. I also led several group projects, including my final-year project where my team and I designed and implemented a dual-axis solar tracking system. Through embedded systems and performance data collection, we created a model that could support system operation even in cases of sensor failure.
I chose Técnico Lisboa for my first year because of its strong foundation in communications and data science, excellent research culture, and supportive environment. For my second year, TU Braunschweig and Grenoble INP are ideal for their industry connections and specializations in data-driven communication systems.
Even though some of my undergraduate work was simulation-based, it revealed the gap between theory and practical application — and this programme is the perfect bridge. CoDaS offers the interdisciplinary depth I need to become a fully competent engineer.
I believe am the best candidate for this scholarship because of my strong background in engineering and also my long-term goal is to contribute to sustainable, secure, and intelligent communication systems, especially across African economies where digital infrastructures are still evolving.
